Stevedore killed in Port Botany accident
A 49-year old Patrick Stevedores worker was crushed to death while unloading shipping containers at Sydney’s Port Botany yesterday.
A Patrick spokesperson said a full investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the incident, which occurred at about 7.30 pm Sydney time.
“Patrick and its employees are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of their workmates,” the spokesperson said.
“Counselling has been provided to support all employees who have been impacted by this and our condolences are extended to all the family and friends of the employee involved in this terrible accident."
The terminal remains closed as part of the investigation process.
