Ports North to control nine Queensland ports

by toevais last modified Mar 02, 2010 11:53 AM

In a rebranding move, Far North Queensland Ports Corporation (FNQPC) has changed its trading name to Ports North.

"The name Ports North very much reflects the organisation and its expanded role in the wider Far North Queensland region," the corporation's chief executive of four months, Chris Boland, said.

Mr Boland said the new name would complement the existing trading names of other ports it operates.

The corporation controls the ports of Cairns, Cape Flattery, Karumba, Mourilyan, Skardon River, Quintell Beach, Thursday Island, Burketown and Cooktown.
