Long Beach eyes upturn

MANAGEMENT at Long Beach, the west coast US port that saw container volumes plummet in 2009, has said the “rebound has started, and the worst is behind us”.

The second largest US container hub handled 5.1m teu last year, down 22% on 2008 and a 33% fall from the 2007 peak volumes of 7.3m teu.
