LME proposes joint venture with Baltic Exchange
The London Metal Exchange has written to the Baltic Exchange with a controversial proposal that the two companies establish a joint venture to trade forward freight agreements.
The LME has proposed the creation of a new regulated exchange to “bring transparency, efficiency and a robust technology platform to the dry bulk FFA market, in collaboration and co-operation with all freight market participants”.
